New brackets are in!

It's been a few days and in the meantime, I've put in the new brackets, which had to be ordered all the way from Germany!  The first time I put on the AC belt, it started to squeal, although I surely had it tight enough...

So the only conclusion I could reach was that I had probably made it too tight.  So I took the AC belt off and a couple of days later, put it back on and made both it and the power steering belt only moderately tight (since the power steering belt is on the opposite side).  Voila!  No more squealing!!  However, I noticed now that the AC compressor is not engaging anymore, it definitely used to work before the head job...  Also, the AC system is empty, need to fix both before summer!!  As promised, a picture of the worn (read: rounded off by me!) brackets:

On the news front, I'm still trouble-shooting a rough running engine (at low revs), got me a set of intake manifold gaskets, new self-locking intake manifold nuts with spring washers AND a new distributor cap!  That's all going in this weekend, hopefully along with the new short shift kit (courtesy of the new Z4 3.0i) that I ordered today!   Stay tuned!!
