Transmission fill-up

This has been a while, but I managed to fill the transmission back up with Valvoline 80W 90 gear oil (a bit heavier than the usual 75W 90) in the hope that the leak would lessen, but that didn't really work...

Oh well, it isn't bad enough to not drive...   There was a little problem involving the local Pep Boys selling my a gasoline siphon pump to use to pump gear oil into the transmission (they took it back readily enough), but other than that, once I had the proper hand-pump, it was a matter of about 30 minutes total to get the transmission filled.

I should mention here that I called a local BMW dealership to ask about the capacity of the manual trasmission (oil-wise) because the capacity listed in the manual (1.25L) seemed a but small... BIG mistake... Upon being told that the capacity of an E30 MANUAL transmission (I asked twice) was 8.1L (!!), I went and bought 9 bottles of the gear oil, only to find that after a couple of bottles, the transmission was full!  So much for infallible info from the dealer...

But all that is in the past and the car's running well now!
